Hydrocephaly (communicating and internal) is accumulation of cerebrospinal fluid due to deficient resorption (communicating) or obstruction of the flow pathway through the brain (internal). Hydrocephaly ex-vaccuo is when the brain shrinks and CSF replaces it.
