Pathological spread of reflex occurs when a reflex contraction occurs in a muscle whose tendon was not stretched (i.e., finger flexion when testing the brachioradialis reflex or thigh adduction when the patellar reflex is tested). It is a suggestions of hyperactive reflexes.
